I hv learned that through Hatha Yoga a person can realize itself. Hatha yoga will provide peace to your mind and body, it guides u to be truthful to everyone, evokes your soul and many more lets apply it in our life.

In Hatha yoga there are eight limbs or branches to reach self-realization or the truth to "life".

The eight limbs are as follows:

1. Yama (Restraints)
i. Ahimsa - non-violence
ii. Satya - Truthfulness
iii. Brahmacharya - chasity / or monogomy ( control of sexual energy)
iv. Asteya - non-stealing
v. Aparigraha- non-accepting of bribes

2. Niyamas (observances)
i. Saucha - purity
ii. Santosha- contentment
iii. Tapas - austerity
iv. Swadhyaya - study of religious scripture
v. Ishwara-prandihana - surrender of ego

3. Asana (steady pose)

4. Pranayama (control of vital energy)

5. Pratyahara (withdrawl from senses)

6. Dharana ( concentration)

7. Dhyana ( meditation)

8. Samadhi (super-conscious state)

I don't know if that helps you understand the spiritual aspect of yoga. What the Asanas do along with the control of breath is make one more present in the moment which very few people ever are. Once you can be more aware of your surroundings and more "present" in the moment you will be able to see that everything within you and your body is inter-connected. Your emotions, nervous system, breathing........... and the list goes on.
After you are able to see the inter-connectedness in yourself you will be able to see it everywhere in the world around you.
If we could all see the inter-connection the world would be a peaceful place. That is the spirituality behind yoga.
