Hello everyone,
I am 26 and I'm tired of being overweight, and really wish to get in shape, but not really bulk up. I found couple of site that seems to list some good exercises, but I'm no expert. Will these be good for what I'm looking for? If good, then how many exercises will I need to do each session, and how many sessions per week will I need to do to produce results?
Thanks for any help you can offer!

Hello. Yoga or any other exercise will certainly help reduce calories and burn up fat in the body. Reducing weight require lots of mental control and physical control in addition to exercise. Diet control is a must. One has ro reduce intake of calories and not eat other than low caloric foods. Also one has to find out what type of food is increasing weight. Other than obesity it is experienced that sweets like chocolates etc increase weight rapidly. Some bodies gain weight due to intake of colas etc. Alcohol increases weight. Cakes and icecreams add up to the weight problem. As thought butter and oils do not increse weight all of a sudden.

Start with a set of asanas which are light in the beganing. If you experience rigidity, massage that part for a few days. Once the muscles are in shape and toned up one can adopt a set of strenous asanas for at least one hour daily. One must practice kapalbhati and Bhastrika pranayama at the end of the asana sets for at lease 10 minutes each. The details are given in the main script.

Best of luck.
