Hi
I've heard about cat stretch, but I don't know what really it is? I've a problem of backache, and my friend told me that cat stretch will soothe my backache.
Thanks
Joseph

Hi!
Cat stretch is a yoga asana, which helps in many ways as it improves the function of intestines, heart, lungs, and liver. It limbers the spinal column and relieves the tension in the lower back. It strengthens the legs, shoulders, and hip joints. And it also increases the flexibility of the spinal cord.
The steps to do a cat stretch asana are as follows:
1. Get into a kneeling position on both hands and feet, but back parallel to the floor.
2. Exhale, bend your left knee, lower your head, and then bring the knee to the forehead. Maintain this position for a few seconds.
3. Inhale, extend and raise the leg and the head back as much as you can. Hold this position for few seconds, and then relax.
4. You have to do the same with your right leg.
5. Repeat this action for 3-4 times.

i have seen it to be quite effective in temporary as well permanent relief from back pain. If done on regular basis, it can help you to give more flexibility and strength to your spine.
