Do I have to complete step 1?

I'm a yoga practitioner, and I want to know that do I have to complete step 1 before I move to step 2 in Hatha Yoga?
I'll really appreciate your replies.

Hi

No, you all the steps of Hatha yoga are practised together. The concentration on non-violence is a lifelong practice. You have to follow both step one and step two of yoga to make a positive state of mind.
