Is alcoholism inherited? My uncle use to drink so much, does this mean his son would also be a drinker? Any comments?

Yes, risk can might be there, but it doesn't mean that a child of an alcoholic parent will become alcoholic too. The risk for developing alcoholism in families is might be there as the genes of a person inherits the pattern, but lifestyle is also responsible for this. The risk of alcohol depends upon the factors like your friends, the stress in your life, and how easily alcohol is available to you.
