seniority in yoga classes?

Hello everyone,
I am wondering if there are any rules for seniority etc, in yoga classes? Means, do advanced students take positions in the front of the class, while beginners in the back, etc or does it not matter at all?

It will depend on what is being taught that class, teachers either put the beginners at the front so they have a clear view of the teacher, in the middle so they have a view of all the other students or let them stand where they want and focus on their own practice.
