View Full Version : How can I make my back strong?

I have very flexible spine, and really haven`t had some problems working all kinds of bends and such, but since my group of vertebras in the lower back is somewhat more sticked out, when doing floor asanas which put the pressure on the back or any kind of rolls with the body around,I find that part of the spine really pushing in the floor, resulting in the irritated skin later if the practise was intense.
Would it be better if I strenghten my lower back some more, that way adding more muscles around the lower part of the spine and putting some pressure off thevertebras, and if that is the case, what`s the best asana or some other exercise to strenghten it?

Thanks a lot!

Hannah,
I am glad you can perform all the asana poses with ease. Your problem is not in the spine. It seems you are not using a blanket for performance of asanas, resultantly your back is getting scratched and causing irritation and redness of the skin. Please spread a mattaress or a blanket for performance of the asanas. You may do the crocodile pose and Cobra pose to strengthen your lower back. In case of further difficulty PM again.
